Mansfield, TX Newborn Photographer | Donna’s Newborn Session
I have had the pleasure to photograph Donna’s family for some time now. Donna and I met during Covid, as we were both expecting our girls just a few weeks apart. We immediately hit it off! Both of us coming from a Hispanic background, we connected really well. At the time, I was just getting started in photography and I wasn’t practicing Newborn sessions yet. So it wasn’t until her second pregnancy that she came to me and asked me to photograph her maternity session, in home!
The session captured everything from her baby’s nursery to life at home with a toddler. I photographed Athena as a newborn and then Donna came to me later when she was expecting her third baby, finally a boy! So of course she also asked me to take Oliver’s newborn photos and I could not be more excited! She wanted to take the chance and get photos as a family too. Life with toddlers is busy, so scheduling a separate session was gonna be hard.
Her session day was rainy, actually storming pretty bad here in DFW. I kept an eye on the weather in case we needed to delay the session an hour or so. Safety is my priority over anything, especially when traveling as a family with a newborn on board! We moved it down an hour and waited for the storm to pass. Once they arrived, for the first time as a family of five, I was ready. I had laid out snacks for the girls in the seating area to keep them entertained and happy.
Oliver was amazing. Being that he was only a few days old when he came in, made it more comfortable for him to be posed in his sleep! We selected props to match a rustic theme. With an array of blues and browns, we decorated the set to celebrate the first boy in the family. Dad couldn’t be happier, having always been surrounded by pink and tutus haha!
Then came time to photograph the family. Athena and Alia were the most excited to take photos with their little brother! I safely posed him with mom and dad nearby and was able to take the sweetest photos of them, capturing the new bond! They truly are a beautiful family.
Little by little, I see clients grow their families and I couldn’t be happier to continue to photograph them at every stage!
